In the MSCA PF Gyromags »Green Recycling Route for Sm-Co Permanent Magnet Swarf” (https://cris.cobiss.net/ecris/si/en/project/19583) we dealt with waste grinding swarf from producing Sm-Co magnets. The primary aim was to clean, recycle and use it as a secondary source of samarium and cobalt. By reducing the carbon content from ~8 wt. % to 0.15 wt. % with chemical and pyrometallurgical processes we gave new guidelines for its efficient recycling.
