2nd prize at the ICM&T conference, Portorož, Slovenija; Tjaša Okleščen

Tjaša Okleščen, a young researcher at the Department of Nanostructured Materials (K7) and a PhD student at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, received second prize for her oral presentation at the 31st International Conference on Materials and Technology (ICM&T).

The award was presented as part of the conference’s traditional young researchers’ competition, in which 21 participants presented their research this year.

Her presentation, titled “Additive Manufacturing of 2Y-TZP Dental Zirconia: The Role of Layer Build-up Orientation,” focused on how build orientation influences the microstructure and properties of additively manufactured dental zirconia ceramics. The study was conducted during the first year of her PhD studies and forms part of her broader doctoral research exploring the potential of additive manufacturing and 2Y-TZP zirconia ceramics for dental applications.
